Honest eye opener to the dating world. Keep eyes wide open

Oh dear, as a woman in the dating world I can see how this would happen when you first start dating via the “apps.” But now, having a couple of years’ experience, I cringe at what the author is walking into. I want to reach into the book and delete his profile! She does keep me reading explaining how she got to this place and how it can happen to anyone. Manipulation is absolutely a horrible form of abuse. It’s when one finally sees that the manipulator is fully aware in what they are doing… that’s when the manipulator loses control. She describes that moment very well. Well written brave truth.

This book is haunting, raw, and unflinchingly honest. The writing doesn’t sugarcoat anything—it dives straight into trauma, pain, and the emotional aftermath of abuse. It's not an easy read, but it's a powerful one. The way the narrator describes memories as “feelings” rather than images hit especially hard. While I found some sections a bit heavy and repetitive, the emotional impact is undeniable. This book stays with you. Not for the faint of heart

A fabulous writer. Chagnon-Merrill, supports you, through the vulnerability that must have been, her time with Jeremy. Dare I say it; at sixty eight, to be so courageous, to try again . . . when your soul is screaming, ‘can I climb now. . .? for too long I’ve been shaped into the carer.’ A special woman indeed. With a wonderful, summation of growth — through dialogue, (including her inner child) Chagnon-Merrill will hold your focus til the very end; a good thing.
